DZ-Rig

US$349.00

Having foresight, we have seen the need for a resurgence in traditional webbing. As the very real potential for near-peer threats loom on the future battlefield, soldiers will need more sustainment, more magazines and carry this equipment for extended periods of time with increased comfort.  With our experience using traditional webbing, we have seen firsthand the advantages and the drawbacks of this style of system over the decades. Our goal of implementing a rig which revolutionizes this concept without the drawbacks—has now become a reality. We have designed a complete soldier system where a rucksack not only integrates with body armor, but also integrates seamlessly with full belt-order. For the first time in history, we at Crossfire have been able to properly accomplish this task. We present to you—The DZ Rig.

SIZING – To get the right size the first time, we have calculated our rig size based off of your normal jean/waist size. We size these to be capable of wearing a light combat smock and T-shirt underneath the rig.

For the guys right in the middle of the two sizes. If your waist is 35”+ and intend on usage in cold climates with the use of an insulating layer underneath or thick belt, we recommend going with L/XL. If you are sized 36-” but intend on using a combat pant/light smock with thin a belt in temperate to warm climates go with the M/L.

M/L for trouser/waist size (30-36″)

L/XL for trouser/waist size (36-42″)

HUMAN PERFORMANCE

Over the decades we have seen a strong signal and direct connection between spinal injuries and the use of rucksacks in military use. Unfortunately, these injuries can be debilitating and are incredibly hard to treat with any meaningful prognosis. We believe the risk of many of these injuries, located in the lumbar spine, particularly the L4-L5 & L5-S1 vertebral discs can be greatly reduced given proper attention to detail when developing load bearing equipment. Unfortunately, there is a dilemma when it comes to belt kit. None of them on the market are designed with a structure strong enough to support the rucksack. Therefore, the weight of the belt and rucksack combined are directed longitudinally through the discs of the spine. When enough vertical inertia is reached, typically during a slip or hard heel landing, the magnitude of force through the spine can go beyond its threshold and result in, facet joint compressions, laminar and type A fractures, but more commonly disc herniations. These injuries can be debilitating and therefore rendering the soldier unable for an expedient return to active duty.

Our team have developed a belt system utilizing our formal background in sports medicine, design and mechanical engineering which quantifiably can reduce the forces on the lumbar spine by redirecting these forces directly away from this area of the spine and applying them to the pelvis and into the hip sockets, these structures are incredibly strong and can handle the weight of a pack with ease.

Our belt system has been developed with knowledge of the last decade to utilize the appropriate materials, structures, shapes and firmness to achieve what has been touted by many SME’s as “the most comfortable and functional belt-kit they have ever worn.” This belt is designed to support a percentage of weight from the shoulders and redirect it into the pelvis, much like the hip belt of a long back alpine pack.

Needless to say, a healthy soldier will always perform at a higher level than an injured one. We believe we have cracked the code when it comes to load carriage and how it relates to musculoskeletal safety.

Have unpacked the kit and BOY is it fu***ng outstanding! Not one stitch out of place or crooked. Not one Irish Pennant ANYWHERE on it.

Initial great news for everyone running 25 round 7.62 NATO P-mags. Two of them fit perfectly in the 30round AR mag pouches even with the dust covers installed and loaded they do not even bounce around when adjusted properly.

Second great news for anyone with the Self Reliance Outfitters 39oz Wide-mouth Canteen Campfire Survival Cooking Kit. The canteen, Nesting cup, stove, lid, and a pair of leather gloves and some of the other little bits fit in each of the 2 canteen pouches and are exactly the same height as the mag pouches with the 25 rounders in them. Ruck will ride on top of them just fine.
So one pouch with the whole canteen set, gloves etc. and the other pouch with another canteen and some other items of your choice are GTG.

The middle back pouch is larger than I had thought and I have not started moving and trying different things in there yet, but I will be able to get necessities and wants in there just fine.

The only thing I have noticed so far is that I will have to change out the adjustment sliders on the front chest straps as they are more of a semi permanent adjustment once you get your fitment correct. I will put quick adjust buckles on so I can more easily get into and out of the rig. That’s just me though.

As I am very particular about the quality of products VS the amount of my money spent, I can say categorically that you will not be disappointed with your purchase.

Love this rig. The straps are very comfortable. i got the green and it matches my other ranger green stuff well. fyi the larger rig has a bigger rear middle pouch. I would have liked to have molle on the back to connect a hydration carrier, also would like for the removable pouches to be split in half so i can just replace 1 pouch instead of 2 at a time. I like it so much ill probably buy another one in M81 Woodland when they come back in stock.

This is a pretty good kit. I like the back mesh that helps with the breathability and the quiet tabs and bungee are a good plus. Will get a few more for some friends. A good buy.

Very sturdy and well thought out rig. The closure system (bungee, Velcro, and/or tab tuck) is great as it gives a lot of options to how to access your gear in regards to speed, stealth, or security. Comfortable solo, want to try with a pack, preferably the CF2 or CF3 that is supposed to integrate with it. Yet to see review or footage so may just have to take a leap of faith on it.

Also, Desert Tiger Stripe was super cool to see, definitely won’t match with any of your other kit but who cares.

Thanks crossfire for your foresight and commitment to the warfighter through your vison and quality products. I got this because u serve in the army and in Alaska where being able to carry enough ammo and sustainment is the differance between life and death. Just tested this rig under extreame conditions in Delta Alaska. Teperatures ive the month were in the high forties diwn to negitive 30s. O was able to carry almost 2 basic combat loads 12 mags. 2 liters if water my NVDs medical supplies a cleaning kit for my weapon and two days of rations stripped down. All while being able ro seemlessly wearining it stand alone or over my plate carrier. It was perfect. I love how it can be combined with my DG 3 for short patrols or my MK 7 when i needed to be out for extended periods. The stability when using it in conjunction w8th a pack made it perfect for over snow movements by ski or snow shoe. Ot is the perfect reimagination of an old idea and is a soulytion for the modern near peer fight when you need to carry more farther and resupply may be an issue. Agaij another perfect piece of kit from Cross fire

This is an awesome modern solution of a classic method of load carriage. The DZ rig is the most comfortable out-of-the-box belt kit I have ever worn. I served for 33 years in the British Paras and Pathfinders, including seven operational tours, so I have a fair bit of experience using belt kit. The yoke provides perfect stability and load carrying comfort, and the load capacity is awesome. The magazine pouches are attached by MOLLE, so you have the option of changing them according to your weapon type (ie 7.62 short or 7.62 NATO). The pouches are closed with innovative tuck tabs that can be operated one handed, silently, plus don’t include breakable parts. You can easily carry up to 12 AR magazines, two litres of water, 24 hours rations, an IFAK and Escape and Evasion kit. This provides you with a level of sustainability that can’t be achieved with a chest rig or plate carrier, plus in comfort. This is essential for the modern battlefield, as seen in current conflicts around the World. The integration of Crossfire Packs with the DZ rig is a great idea too, as the belt kit supports the weight across your hips. Awesome work Crossfire!

I just received my DZ-Rig in multicam with optional Cobra buckle today. Firstly, the speed of receipt of my order was fast. Secondly, the quality of the product was exceptional! I was formerly with the U.S. Army’s 1st. Ranger Battalion. I wish that we had LCE gear of this quality when I was serving. I will definitely purchase other products from this Crossfire again!
